The Center for Play Therapy was founded by Carolyn Spencer in 2003. The Center is located
in Montgomery, Alabama. We specialize in providing professional services including assessments for sexual abuse, custody
evaluations, play therapy for children and families as well as individual, group and adult counseling. Supervision and
continuing education are an integral part of the Center's role in training child therapists for the field of play therapy
and mental health.
Some of the special services include:
* Custody mediation;
* Supervised visitation;
* Assessment and treatment of child sexual abuse;
* Behavorial problems and childhood disorders;
* Treatment of ADHD, Conduct Disorder, depression, and other serious emotional disorders;
* Parenting skills;
* Supervision for licensure as a Counselor or Play Therapist;
* Training and Consulation Services.
Center Information
Office hours will be by appointment only, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., or as scheduling permits.
Clients are requested to be on time for all appointments. Please give 24 hours notice for any cancellation to allow time to
fill that appointment space.

After Hour Crisis Referrals
*Utilize the emergency room of the day
*Local on-call crisis service provided by your community Mental Health Center. For Montgomery, Elmore, Autauga, and
Lowndes Counties call 213-1494.
Fee Information
* Fees are due at the time of service. Cash, checks, or money orders are welcomed.
*Insurance claims must be filed by the clients' family. Receipts will be provided.
*Fees are as follows:
Individualized Family Counseling at $80.00 per hour.
Mental Health Consultations requiring written reports or meetings for school personnel, DHR staff, etc. at $80.00 per hour.
Medical providers are billed as needed at the same rate as above at $80.00 per hour.
Court appearances, preparation and consultations will be billed at $80.00 per hour.
*Fees will be prorated based on the hourly rate and an itemized report of time billed will be provided upon request.
